Couple of things...

1. I don't want Trump dead. I don't like the guy, I've made no secret about that, but I'm not evil. I've never cheered these attempts at his life.
2. I do believe Trump has clearly spent almost a decade now doubling and tripling down on divisiveness and hate that has helped him accede to the presidency (and take it away from him) but which is now having the residual effect...the reaping of what he has sowed...of creating probably multiple unstable folks out there who just needed their craziness activated with a "propia causa" to go after Trump. But that doesn't change the fact that Trump has brought this upon himself. The other side will argue the media is to blame. But Trump has used the media, in fact, and that is well known to rise to power using this divisive rhetoric.
3. Routh appears (and it is very early to tell for sure) to be the personification of instability that he has brought to the country at large. Again, the product of his years of creating this monster with how he acts, what he says. And the obvious point I think that must be made here is that we have to assume there are other Rouths and Crooks out there ready to act if given the opportunity. And that's scary as hell.
4. For the purposes of the election, I do not want to see democracy get robbed of its day to elect a President fairly and where it should happen which is at the voter booth through the power of free elections.
You guys can be as cynical as you want but that's my thoughts.
