If we aren’t at least top 6 in the SEC. But the ceiling is 4th or 5th I think. Realistically no one is likely to challenge Texas, Florida and Georgia. But the next 4 teams: Georgia, Tennessee, Mizzou and TAMU could finish in any order in the 4-7 spots.
Sullivan did an excellent job last year coming in on short notice and cobbling together a second round NCAA team from a collection of a few returning players, transfers and freshmen. This is the year she needs to take the next step. Every key player except one (Gedikoglu) is returning from last year. Our best player Iliff is all SEC and a senior. deMarrais returns after just astonishing production in 2023 compared to 2022. Morrissey is the key freshman who is supposed to be a real stud and future all SEC player. Going to be fun watching her. She should get immediate playing time. 4 promising transfers are coming in, most excited to see Vernon from Oregon St who was their best player.
In all there is a 22 person roster, which is huge: 12 returnees, 6 freshmen, 4 transfers, so Sullivan is again going to have to try and put an effective combination on the court, she certainly has a lot of pieces to work with, like last year. Difference is she has a much stronger core of returning players from 2023 to anchor the team with.
