AVCA preseason VB poll…

Released two days ago, no big surprises, and this poll tends to give more weight than deserved to last years finish.
6 SEC teams made the top 20:
1 Texas
9 Kentucky
11 Florida
15 Tennessee
19 Arkansas
25 Georgia
Missouri got a handful of votes, were the 12th team outside the top 25, and Auburn was the 9th team outside the top 25.
Arkansas will not be a top 20 team, that’s the biggest miss in terms of SEC teams. The SEC coaches preseason poll, which has a better handle on their teams, picked Arky to finish 8th in the conference, which seems more realistic after their significant player losses.
If anyone in the SEC can somehow break into the top 3 of Texas, Florida and Kentucky it would be much more likely to be Georgia or Tennessee.
A top 6 finish is probably realistic for Missouri in year 2 of the Sullivan era, and would certainly mean we’ve had a good enough season for a second straight NCAA bid.
We will be tested early, with 6 straight matches away from home to start the season, including #6 preseason Louisville and #12 Creighton, plus a few more decent teams.
