new basketball arena. There was core of "townies" at Hearnes that filled the lower bowl and made every home game look respectable whether person or TV. Even against Mercer or Texas-San Antonio or Chicago State.

Alden took all those tickets away or priced them out completely with required high donation levels when Paige Arena was built. It resulted in years and years of embarrassment of empty seats because the high end donors were corporate or from out of town and never went to the games.
