It was the last game of the season and the last game that Don Faurot coached at Missouri. I happened to turn the radio on and caught the final few minutes
Mizzou had trailed virtually all of the game. The Tigers scored with a couple of minutes to go to make the score 14-13 KU, but the Tigers failed on the extra point.
Mizzou kicked deep to KU. The Tigers got a safety on about the third play that KU ran. If memory serves, a Tiger defender tackled a KU ball played in the endzone for a 2 point safety and a 15-14 lead with a minute or less left.
The safety gave Mizzou and Faurot a 15-14 win over their arch rival in Faurot's final game as the Tiger head coach.
