it sounds like there's a bit of a power struggle within the party.

They want to win in a big way. If Obama et al come to the conclusion that Kamala is just not a strong enough candidate to win it even if they all rally around her they may conclude that it is worth ousting her too in order to pick a more viable candidate.

Add to that the possible Obama aspirations for an historic husband/husband combo presidency and the odds are raised a bit more for a civil war in the Democratic Party.

fwiw, there were stories about internal polling showing that Kamala would lose to Trump, but Big Mike was neck and neck with him.

I guess we will find out soon enough whether that battle looms.
