To your point, his declining health and cognition are NOT the reasons he's ending his campaign.

The problem is, the reason is it can no longer be hidden.

And you're right again, people have recognized it so the polling reflected it. But he has been getting worse and will continue to get worse and if he doesn't resign the presidency, we will have an absolute vegetable in the White House on January 19.
