While still a candidate, perhaps not yet the nominee, Joe Biden made the promise to have a black gal as his running mate. He kept that promise and as Potus has not made great use of VP Harris. Per the debate, Biden lost it. Obviously he was sick and off his game, bad timing. The two minute/one minute limits served Trump way more than Biden who is never concise. Trump just told one whopper after another, but one source 35 lies and it was too much for Joe to handle. He performed poorly. NOW, one error in first debate '76 when Jerry Ford made a blunder about Soviet power that quite well cost him re-election. In '84 first debatem, Reagan appeared a bumbling old fool - but Reagan recovered enough to win. Last night, focus groups of independents judged Trump VERY harshly, seeing his lines as just more Trump lying bullsht. Dems ARE in a tough spot with a convention coming up and uncertainty about their candidate, but history does not indicate campaign a lost cause, though Joe Heileman said he had never seen a party so shaken.
