The Catholic Church has consistently judged in vitro fertilization (IVF) to be immoral, and has outlined its reasons in several documents, including Donum Vitae (1987), Evangelium Vitae (1995), and Dignitas Personae (2008). The Church's main objections to IVF are:

Sexual union: The Church teaches that human dignity is best respected when a child is conceived through the sexual union of two people, not in a laboratory. IVF replaces pregnancy through intimate union, and dissociates the sexual act from the procreative act.

Child's integrity: IVF treats a baby as a product to be manipulated, violating the child's integrity as a human being with an immortal soul from the moment of conception. Some say IVF objectifies the child, as children are produced almost on an industrial scale.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
