when it happens with the intent to cover up another crime, which NY said was violations of state election law.

This has been made clear since the beginning. It's okay that you don't like the charges, or agree with them, but to say you don't know what the felony is means you've been wilfully ignorant. Strangely enough, his attorneys certainly knew.
