and the margin between the best and the worst teams is a lot smaller than it is in college. Who wins their division is the best decider because they don't use polls or the BCS ranking system.

It is hard to compare pro to college sports when one group only has 30 something teams, and the other has 100-300 teams. What works for one might not work for the other.
