OMG I do understand it. I practiced for years in KC and had tons of clients who lived/worked/crossed state lines.
The impact of a move to KCK will only materially affect a select few. Metro KC will benefit as not everyone stays in KS lodging or avoids The Plaza. But it is just not that big of a deal. Most won't even care what state they're in, only you and Norm with your obsessions with all things Kansas
BTW I lived in OPKS four years and loved it. Did a few of my dollars go to ku and ksu? Sure, but I can't live my life boycotting everything that I disagree with politically or otherwise. It's just not a normal lifestyle.
Also, the location of a sports complex isn't a guaranteed that the businesses and taxpayers will follow. Look at Truman, you'd think that location would have generated a boom local economy. That area hasn't changed much in half a century in spite of the once popularity of the Royals and currently, the Chiefs.
