Trumps character is not on trial. It is not relevant to the charges, as much as you would like it to be. The charges are all falsifying business records. The only relevant evidence is whether or not the business records were falsified. People who were not involved with the record keeping do not have relevant evidence to bring to the court. So Trump's accountants, attorneys, and Trump himself may have relevant evidence, and the records themselves can provide evidence, but that is pretty much it in terms of allowable evidence.
This should have been about a 30 minute trial as it would be thrown out by any responsible judge because there is no evidence to support any of the charges, including the conspiracy charge.
