Divide the Watts by 120V and you will find the amps.
Example 1000 Watt Fridge divided by 120V = 8.33 amps. As long as it is below 15 amps you are good. There is a startup peak wattage of the compressor. Use that number.
Though I would want it less than 10 amps in case someone plugs something else into the garage circuit while the fridge is on...
