For those still on the fence about this hire, I'd suggest you watch this introductory video. When I watch him handle this introductory press conference and compare it to the press conference DRF did in Arizona, just a few weeks ago, it's just night and day. I don't dislike DRF (although I'm still scratching my head about her decision making on the move), but it's hard to believe, watching these two behind a mic, that we didn't just make a huge leap forward. Go to about 7:15 in the video is where he takes over. He thanks Joe Castiglione for giving him his first full time opportunity in the profession at Mizzou, but really gushes about Mike Alden and calls him one of the most influential Athletic leaders in the country (and he was proud to be apart of "Alden's Army"). After listening to this and his story about visiting Audie Walton in Versailles, MO, curious that it took us this long to pull the trigger. It's clear he knows the legacy at Mizzou, he knows the state, and has a strong history of success in fund raising and raising awareness about facilities development. He's also done a nice job on coaching hires, hiring Ryan Silverfield as FB HC, and Katrina Merriweather at HC of women's basketball. Most importantly, this is a guy that could be here for 15 years (you have him and Drink in these positions for the next decade or more, and we make good on our commitment of "consistency in the program" and should have a lot of fun in front of us.
This is an exciting hire from my perspective.
