firm.
On day 1 they handed me a book about the size of two phone books that was something like the IL Manufacturer's registry. Had the names and phone numbers of the top executives for basically every manufacturing company in the state.
the senior broker I was working under told me to start on page 1 and start calling. The whole spiel was to see if they were at least 100k liquid and agree to a follow up call or mailing from my boss.
Got hung up on hundreds of times a day and like a couple times a week someone would be like yeah, show me what you got. that was enough for that broker to make his money and thus for me to make mine.
but it was AWFUL.
add to this, it was a total "boiler room" situation. rich a**hole brokers driving porsches etc while driving the new people into the ground. but tons of outings to cubs games, steak dinners, cigars, whiskey, late night partying, trips on the weekends to their mcmansions in the burbs, etc. was pretty much like being in a movie. I lasted about a year before it wore me down.
