shifting beneath their feet in an unprecedented way... and Drink has not only been left standing, but has adapted and done very well... so far.
Saying that he hasn't been "taking HS kids and developing them for every position, as Odom or Pinkel did" seems to be a rather irrelevant criticism given the current environment. Coaches that have doggedly stuck to that necessary paradigm from the past have probably been hindered because of that.
Fwiw, Drink has developed some talent that he inherited pretty well it seems, and filled in with much needed talent from the very newly available portal system. Kudos to him for that, from my perspective.
It is still a somewhat limited time frame, but so far I think we can admire what he has done here so far. I think it probably bodes well for the future. One issue is whether we can keep him if he continues improving upon his rapidly rising trajectory. That too looks pretty promising so far.
