kingpin... that Mafia kingpin engages in conversation with a restaurant owner and they discuss laundering money through that establishment.
Should the cops have secured a warrant for the restaurant owner prior to "spying" on that call? Clearly, that is not the way the law works in that case. Now... if they want to begin "spying" on that restaurant owner in addition to the Mafia guy, they need to get a warrant (and they have probable cause to do so)... but... if the mafia guy covered by the warrant calls the restaurant owner again... the cops STILL don't need a warrant for the restaurant owner.
