Court either involves direct or indirect action that Court occurs when a person impedes a courts ability to carry out their judicial activities.
The fact that a person in cannot pay not a judgement is not contempt of court. But we arent even at that point yet. we are talking about the ability to post a bond to allow for the appeal. You don't go to jail for an inability to post a bond in a civil matter.
Now, as for what could be called indirect contempt, this most commonly occurs in situations when a court orders property to be turned over as part of a settlement, and the party fails to comply. This most often occurs in family law type situations, but clearly has occurred here.
