It's the Crime and homeless BS that makes people want to regulate Heroin, Coke, Meth, LSD etc. With over 60% of the U.S. population using Alcohol compared to the Lower percentage of illegal drugs use. People naturally are aware of the dangers of those hardcore drugs compared to Alcohol and let's say MJ.

When people see the issues from Hardcore drug use etc. and see the damage done by hardcore drug users the natural reaction to fix the problem is to stop or try to limit it's use.
