the SEC needs to go head to head with them and beat them consistently. Not some kind of judgement "beauty" contest with both leagues OOC filled with cupcakes.
A case in point is how the he** did Cincinnati and TCU end up in the playoff? Had other schools in the mix those year played tough, decent OOC they never would have made it.
