There wouldn't be a need for troops on the ground.
Their transportation, air defense and communications systems would be rubble in the first two weeks. There would be no logistics left to manage. The Marine Corp alone has more aircraft than russia.
Of course Putin would eventually start lobbing nukes when backed into a corner and it all ends.
