1. Those threads are complete speculation, second (or third) hand information, and conjecture.

2. Don't most teams need to have that kind of talent in order to win at a high level? If we can attract that kind of talent, we don't need Gates to be the best coach in the NCAA in order to win. And to be fair, Brown wasn't a first-round prospect until he played under Gates.
