I've done this the last few years basically because i think it's interesting.
Essentially I'm looking at how Mizzou generally compares to other schools in terms of keeping the top rated local talent. I'm especially interested to see how we compare after coming off a successful 2023 season.

(These are all according to Rivals, for reference)
State - #stayed in state - misc notes
Alabama - 9/10 - 5 bama, 4 auburn, 1 tenn
Arizona - 2/10 - both to arizona. asu only got 1 of the top 20
Arkansas - 4/10 - MU got 3 of their top 10
California - 0/10 - woof
Colorado - 0/5 - not a lot of local talent there i guess
Connecticut - 0/10 - not surprising. nowhere to go
DC - 0/5 - surprisingly none even stayed semi-local
Florida - 3/10 - Miami 2, UF 1, FSU 0. once you get past the top 10 a lot more stay home, and the #75 kid in FL is probably rated higher than the #1 kid in 40 other states, so...
Georgia - 1/10 - UGA got the #2 but that's it
Hawaii - 0/5 - no local opportunity
Illinois - 0/10 - feels odd to me
Indiana - 4/10 - ND 2, Indiana 1, Purdue 1
Iowa - 7/10 - iowa 6, isu 1. only 1 in their top 15 signed more than 1 state away (#15 kicker went to georgia)
kansas - 3/5 - not much talent here but ksu got all 3
Kentucky - 6/10 - UK 5, L'ville 1
Louisiana - 9/10 - all to LSU and texas got the other
Maryland - 2/10
Massachusetts - 1/10 - boston college
Michigan - 4/10 - UM 3, MSU 1
Minnesota - 5/10
Mississippi - 7/10 - Ole Miss 5, MSU 2
Missouri - 1/10 - but we got the #1. will be interesting to see how many pan out
Nebraska - 8/10 - MU got 1, ND got the other
New Jersey - 3/10 - rutgers
New York - 2/10 - syracuse
North Carolina - 4/10 - NC 2, NCSU 2
Ohio - 4/10 - all OSU
Oklahoma - 6/10 - OU 5, OSU 1
Oregon - 4/5 - OU 3, OSU 1
Pennsylvania - 6/10 - PSU 5, Pitt 1
South Carolina - 6/10 - SC 5, Coastal Carolina 1, Clemson 0
Tennessee - 3/10 - all to knoxville. note Mizzou got #s 11 & 16
Texas - 5/10 - UT 3, aTm 1, TTU 1. even beyond the top 10 a LOT of kids leave the state. MU got #20.
Utah - 7/10 - Utah 4, BYU 3
Virginia - 2/10 - both to VaTech
Washington - 1/10 - one guy to UW kinda surprises me, especially coming off the year they had
West Virginia - 3/5 - WVU 2, Marshall 1
Wisconsin - 3/10 - pretty much all stayed in upper-midwest
