Hawaii State Supreme Court just ruled, and I'll quote,

"Article I, section 17 of the Hawaii Constitution mirrors the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. We read those words differently than the current United States Supreme Court. We hold in Hawaii there is no state constitutional right to carry firearms"
"We reject Wilson’s constitutional challenges. Conventional interpretive modalities and Hawaiʻi’s historical tradition of firearm regulation rule out an individual right to keep and bear arms under the Hawaiʻi Constitution"
They dismiss Heller and Bruen and claim the right to bear arms is not an individual right.
if you want to read the whole crazy opinion here you go. but it's essentially that Hawaii is free to not follow SCOTUS rulings and free to adopt even dissenting opinions if they believe them to be more correct.
