rest of the article didn't change my mind on the basic facts of the situation.

The wording used by the author of the article & by those from the state still indicated that they were in favor of or at least acquiescing to "gender affirming" treatment. They sent her to Wyoming for "mental health treatment" by which they could very well mean gender affirming treatment. They were apparently pressuring the parents to also acquiesce to that. I can certainly see their concern.

I believe that the article was a little misleading in stating that 'gender affirming treatment' was allowed in both states at the time she was moved, but doesn't mention that the Montana legislature had passed a bill banning "gender-affirming medical care" in April, but a state judge temporarily blocked it in April.

If I was some pro-LGBTQ+ worker in family services trying to help some confused 14 year old girl to transition, I would probably prefer sending her to Wyoming rather than trying to ramrod her transition through in Montana where the threat of the temporary block being removed could greatly complicate things.

I know how crazy the children services places can be. I know someone who right now is dealing with them in Missouri. Her daughter had some mental health issues and was not taking care of her children very well. They were placed with a family in foster care and the grandparents requested custody and received it temporarily.

The children were in heaven. The grandparents put them in a private, highly rated Catholic school. They were taking them to the zoo & to parks and other places and the kids started putting on some pounds getting to a healthy weight and were very happy. During a visit with a social worker one of the kids made some comment about Trump being good and I believe another one said something about abortion being bad and family services took the kids kicking and screaming away from them.

The head of the department is allegedly quite liberal, and hates Trump with a passion. They did not like the political views of the grandparents and so they took them away with no reason given for doing so. The kids were crying and begging to stay with their grandparents but all that the DFS person could tell them was that it was for their own good. One of the kids cried that the people they were putting them with lived in a trailer that stunk. They hated that place and wanted to stay with their grandparents... but the lady just repeated that it was for their own good. The grandparents could get no reason for the decision either.

The bottom line is that most of these social workers seem to be very liberal to radically liberal and think that they are better judges of how children should be brought up than their parents or grandparents are, especially if they don't agree with the social workers' political views.
