I think everyone can deal with a down year. I kind of equate this with the tailspin that took place in 2015 and 2016 in football. I remember watching us take out Minnesota on NYD 2015 for our third NYD bowl victory under Pinkel and thinking....man this it - we are finally completely over the hump. SEC, big time bowl wins, divisions titles.... And then the clusterF*** of the next several years happened. I had that with Gates. I was completely sold on the guy (and still am for the most part) but I thought this kind of crap was long behind us. I just thought last year was a huge turning point - no more embarrassing seasons. Just competitive teams every year.
