Because they can't have it both ways. They want real grass for all surfaces, but then don't like weather impacted games. They can either push for all indoor football played mostly on turf, or deal with open air stadiums with grass playing surfaces.

I think if you gave the players a choice, they'd rather deal with weather like this as it comes up before playing on turf in a dome.
