the models from the Gore days are not correct today.

Models are constantly being updated and validated/proven wrong over time based on new data, information and improved models.

There should not be a political process, because that is when agendas overtake science. This was played out right in front of our eyes on a much smaller scale with COVID.

Science should drive information, and then businesses and regions, or non-political entities can use that information to make their own better informed decisions.

What we have now is agenda driven science, where conclusions are drawn, and data is manipulated to fit the conclusions.
