The vehicle left at a high rate of speed after the officer noticed it in the lot and thought it was suspicious. Auto burglaries are up across the metro. An officer noticed the vehicle and observed to leaving at a high rate of speed when the driver was aware of the officer's presence. The officer thought that warranted following the vehicle and the driver committed a traffic violation warranting a lawful stop. The driver then fled.

So enventually the driver and occupants were apprehended. A stolen firearm was recovered.

No matter how you dumbfuqs spin it, it was good police work.
