can change perceptions of things like beauty simply by force of will. Clearly overweight bodies are now beautiful. Men pretending to be women with ginormous hands and feet (i.e., Bruce Jenner) are gorgeous. And we are just supposed to pretend it is so.

No. A little overweight is one thing. Clearly obese people with fat rolls hanging everywhere my be hot to a few, but to most that is not something to aspire to. It is something to attack with discipline and will.
