It is now. My uncle was a long time Big 8 ref. He told a story on beaker Bobby Douglas. Bobby would kick that leg back before the snap on some plays. It was fine, unless there was a man in motion. The side judge threw 3 flags on him during a game and Bobby went to my uncle, head ref, and said "ref, what the fvck is that?" Uncle wouldn't tolerate cursing on the field so he said, "well Bobby, that's 5, and here's 15 more."
