This was a decision that allowed for a fair amount of subjectivity and nuance. Different people are going to attach different weights to the various criteria the committee had to consider. One of those criteria was the impact that an absence of a coach or player might have on a team's ability to compete (good thing Harbaugh was able to get back on the sideline, huh?).
RG3's emphasis on the 'team' concept is nonsense, especially coming from him. He was the ONLY reason Baylor had any relevance when he was playing. After he left they had to resort to cheating.
Players and coaches make a difference. Tough break for FSU, but that's the way the ball bounces.
Mizzou fans of all people should understand this. I didn't see anyone taking up our cause after the Nubs beat us in '97 with that bogus kick TD.
