There is no doubting that the area is a terrible mess. There is no doubt that most Palestinians don't have a lot of say. There is no doubt that Israel has failed as well and their oppression, theft and brutality is much of what allows a group like Hamas to stick around and perpetrate horrors as well.
That the US media and much of the US response to recent events is this poor, poor pitiful Israel as victim in view that seems devoid of context. Again I am reminded of my old dead head buddy, Sammy brother who returned from his stint with the IDF "protecdting the motherland' transformed as much into militant extremist as you will ever find.
