Interesting that sports reference says we didn’t start

Playing football until 1901. The Mizzou website shows 47 victories prior to that season. That number would be 706.
Wikipedia also counts 47 victories prior to 1901.
700/706/718 is much closer.
It just makes comparing victories across schools an endless debate, especially when places like kansass count spring game victories.
I guess I should clarify, there’s nothing that necessarily says that’s when they believe we started playing football, but that’s when they say our records begin.
