of equity is equal outcomes for all.

I would argue that giving everyone an A is not really an outcome, just a gift. But if you take everyone's actual score and take any points scored above the mean from the better students and give them to the kids who scored below the mean you have, in fact, achieved equity.

I am all for equality in the classroom, every kid should have the same opportunity to succeed. Anyone who thinks equity is a valid educational goal should be hanged, drawn and quartered IMO.
