Athlon, and Lindy's magazines that came out late summer or early fall that rated players. They usually had a top 25 players list or so, and sometimes they would list the top 5 or 10 basketball players in each state. I used to buy them to read about the upcoming conference predictions and stuff. I remember one of them having Kareem Rush as the #25 rated recruit his Senior Year.
