Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Clemson are the only winners

of the championship since 2015.. Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia have all been runners up over the same time. Not many schools give a better chance of winning something. Oklahoma won a title in 2000, and last played for one 15 years ago. Notre Dame has played for a title once in the last 30 years. Michigan won in 1997 and has played in one title game since. One could argue that there are currently only about 5 or 6 teams that give any player a realistic chance of playing for a title. Clemson has played in 4 title games since 2015, but you have to go back to 1981 before that. Things change, but nothing is guaranteed. Once can argue it is more the coach than the school. One great season can turn a program into a destination school.
