a comparison between two great players doesn't mean the unselected one isn't also great.
Kobe made a huge leap forward as a senior both in terms of skill and production. No question. Albert didn't have a senior year, he was off playing minor league professional basketball. But that first season under Quin we had a much better roster....with the exception of the gaping hole at PF manned by Jeff Hafer/Johnnie Parker. If Albert had returned and played his senior year he would be remembered much differently. Most of his problems at MU (and Michigan before that) were conflicts with coaching and motivation. I suspect had he played under Quin he would have emerged as a force with his talent and skill set. But wasn't meant to be.
