In fact, it seemed to me that the very high percentage of Mizzou fans were rooting for him and respected him. He didn't make his sexuality a big deal and just was a good player and teammate. I think Rapinoe's activism puts a target on her back, not her sexuality. The gay slurs just happen to come out because of the other.
