but there are times when sports and politics become entertwined (Britney Griner) or when the landscape is challenged (trans issue). I don't think that writers and outlets can just ignore that. To me, it's no different than Clay Travis writing about administration issues with universities as to why they made a particular decision. Or when athletes commit crimes. Should they just ignore those topics too?

But, I agree that I want it to be a release and free of the social/political/off-the-field stuff generally. And that some go too far over the top.
