In another video I saw, he railed on the company for not getting certified and said this was likely going to be the outcome all along.

It's pretty stupid that the coast guard wasted all kinds of money when it was pretty clear the sub had imploded. As early as Monday they knew that at the exact moment they lost comms and transponder, the picked up the loud sound that was the implosion.
