they are the ones who foolishly yearn for a conference that no longer exists. The "Big 8" is a thing of the past.
Nebraska and Oklahoma are gone. In fact, the latter is about to join Mizzou's current conference.
All that remains are a bunch of leftover scraps that no one else wanted.

Even if the Big 12 adds Colorado & Arizona, it's still a total dumpster fire. Our budget would be cut in half, and we'd fall way behind our regional P2 counterparts: Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska.
Even if we reached the playoff (which would require winning the Big 12, since it won't be getting at-large bids)... we'd get obliterated in the first round by an SEC or Big Ten with twice the budget.
