There is no pvt., use to be Catholic affiliated, supremely urban city school in SEC. Vandy is closest but it’s more SEC than Miami. VA Tech,
NC State are big State U’s in new, SEC like country with good, broad based ADs. Might be more likely Miami gets left out and goes with the academic elite. Their brand isn’t what it use to be but it will get along well with the more lib, B10. But it’s not a great B10 cultural fit either but neither is USC, UCLA, Rutgers. Miami is the least like SEC place in the SEC footprint IMO.

I’m not saying you are wrong but it is not my best guess how it plays out.
