If Sam Horn wins the job, I will be great with that.
If Jake Garcia wins the job, I will be great with that.
I don't think Brady can take us to the next level - you and I are in agreement on that.
But I view Jake Garcia as more than "a 3rd string Miami QB".
He was rated higher than Sam Horn out of high school and had better offers.
Ohio State, Alabama, Southern Cal & Georgia usually don't offer someone who is destined to be little more than a "3rd string QB from Miami".
A lot went into what happened at Miami - including the incumbent OC (since fired) - the incumbent QB - etc.
Another 3rd string QB that comes to mind that did OK for himself - fellow by the name of Joe Burrow. I don't even think he was 3rd string at Ohio State.
Anyway, I digress.
May the better QB win - but either Garcia or Horn has the arm strength to be special and to be an SEC winning QB.
I'm not dismissing either one of them at this point in time - but pointing out Garcia clearly has an initial leg up with the new OC in terms of running the "1's" during all of the Spring including the Spring Game.
And again, making a determination on a QB based on one throw does seem a bit out there.
