benchmarks for determining recession are somewhat unmoored from reality. For example, there's too much emphasis on Wall Street vs. Main Street.
In a consumer based economy like America's as long as people are employed, they will buy things, assuming they can get them and they can afford them. With full employment, wages will rise because jobs will be harder to fill.
The price of Apple stock somewhat reflects this but not by itself.
Peter Zeihan has talked about this before and it makes sense.
