Shouldn't personal responsibility come into play?

If my child is going to miss a portion of the school day, losing classroom instruction time for a celebrating diversity event, I'm finding out what they're attending.

This wasn't hidden, it took a couple of button clicks to find what this event planned to present.

If the event said they were having the Columbia Interfaith Choir sing, then changed to this the day of the show I could understand a parent being upset. That wasn't the case here.
