One component of the event is to publicize and celebrate writings from local middle school students about diversity. If there were any students in attendance (not verified) it would've been those students. I highly doubt those students or their parents had any problem with this. The only people complaining are people that were not involved in the event, either directly or through their children.

Yet another moral panic and outrage/dopamine hit.
