That is one thing primaries should do. But Trump just cannot help himself, and he is really taking what was an early advantage for DeSantis and turning it into a huge advantage at his own expense.
Imagine how much stronger Trump would look now had he said election night, "Congratulations Florida for making the right choice. It was my absolute pleasure to help Gov. DeSantis win the first time when he wasn't well known so that all of you could know now what I knew then. Ron DeSantis will be good for Florida."
