You are mostly right. But Wall Street does like a division of power as it reduces uncertainty in that it's more difficult for the government to make rash moves. I don't think we'd see the market quite as high as we see it now had the democrats retained control of the House and Senate (although both are still in doubt, it looks like the republicans will at least control the house).
